Bullying There is relatively little bullying at Hind Leys but we deal with it firmly. Our anti-bullying policy makes it clear that we will always challenge and not accept any form of bullying in the classroom or around the college. We recognise that bullying may take a variety of forms and degrees of seriousness. Our overall intention is to generate a climate where bullying is seen to be unacceptable. Our code of conduct is built on developing respect for individuals and a sense of belonging to the college community. A number of curriculum opportunities arise for dealing with relationships including bullying, e.g. English, PSHE, Drama and is dealt with directly within the tutor-time programme and in assembly issues. The action taken will of course depend on the nature, intent and interpretation of the situation by pastoral staff and the students involved. All incidents of bullying are recorded within our behaviour management database system, and parents contacted if deemed appropriate. Severe or repeated bullying may well result in exclusion. Students can speak to their tutor or any of their teachers if they are concerned about bullying.
